Let's put it this way; if we're having a discussion about seeing top-priced wl's then a response like "I see ladies who charge $1000 an hour on a regular basis, but my disposable income is such that I can afford it comfortably" then I have no problem with that since it is in the context of the discussion and gives insight in to why this client can and does make the choices he makes. Indeed I wish that I was in the position to do the same! However an intro along the lines "Hi, I'm Fred. Oh and by the way, I'm a millionaire" seems to serve little purpose other than one-upsmanship. Success is nothing to be ashamed of and indeed self-made men (and women) who have achieved their wealth ethically are considered by me to be role models who can set an example that others, especially youth, can aspire to.Many of the specialists at the hospital where I work are millionaires many times over but in 20 years I've never heard one of them ever discuss their personal wealth. The respect they command comes entirely from their knowledge base and skill, not their bank balance which has no relevance to whether or not they make the right diagnoses and initiate the most appropriate treatment.
Why do people take such offense at others mentioning their success? Insecure? What? I don't doubt many put it out here just to show off but so what, does it strictly need to be such a taboo? Maybe they're just proud of themselves, and rightly so.
I have quickly learnt not to trust them. I've got my guard up these days.
Details please, my ears are flapping
